2024 - We're Just Not That Into You
Success lies in the simplicity, failure in the sophistication.
Bottom Line on the 2024 Election
As the readers of this column have come to understand, I often use pop culture references to make my points.
Politics is routinely over complicated by the pundits - most of whom have never been elected to a thing.
Being elected to something doesn’t make you an expert who always gets it right; HOWEVER, when one spends years knocking on doors, listening to constituents, and trying to communicate complicated policies/decisions/realities into easily understood words one learns to cut to the quick.
Politics comes down to short, simple phrases. “It’s the economy, stupid” “Hope and Change” “Drain the Swamp” “Make America Great Again”
For the 2024 election cycle, the analysis is DIRT SIMPLE and captured by this scene from Sex and The City.
“He’s just not that into you.”
The varying reactions within this scene accurately reflect the last week here in the U.S.
All across the WORLD - the incumbent governing party LOST.
Why? Voters are not happy with the ways things are going.
More people went to the polls this year than any year in human history. In fact, over FOUR billion - that’s 4,000,000,000 people were eligible to vote in democratic elections.
That didn’t just happen and it wasn’t cheap.
It was/is a long hard fought battle and it’s worth it. #VeteransDay
Is democracy really on the decline or are the people just not into the current leaders?

Yes, it’s that time of the year…
