Just three quick things for you.
Today at Noon - Virginia FREE Fridays - We will review the Democratic primaries which end in just eleven days on June 8th, the upcoming election season, and reflect on the life and times of John Warner. Click HERE to Join at Noon.
I would like to invite you to a Zoom call next Friday - June 4th at 11am ET - during which you will learn about how to attend the Rugby World Cup which is scheduled for September and October of 2023 in France - Paris and Marseille. The World Cup is one of the most exciting and entertaining events in the world. This is a great opportunity to also visit France and we are making accommodations for traveling partners/spouses and children etc. Tickets are on sale now for specific games including the Cup opener of France vs. the All Blacks of New Zealand. Please reply to this email in order to be sent the link and calendar invitation. This is a The More The Merrier kind of event. Several incumbent Virginia legislators who played rugby have expressed a strong desire to attend. This is not intended to be a Virginia FREE event, but one never knows.
Memorial Day Weekend is the traditional kick off to summer, but it is also a time of reflection and remembrance to those who gave their lives in service to our Nation. Please remember their sacrifice as well as that of their families. We are blessed to live in a country such as ours. In the long history of humanity, we have it better than 99% of the people who have ever lived. It didn’t just happen. It’s been a long hard fought battle for freedom. For that, I am grateful and happy. Yes, fighting for freedom and living in a democratic republic is a hard road but as Tom Hanks’ character in A League of Their Own reminds us - “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.”
But the hard is easier when we are truly grateful for what we have.
Cheers,
SAX
