Virginia Republican and Democratic Party Chairs agree
The Virginia Board of Elections met Monday to certify the 2024 general election results.
The chairs of Virginia’s two main political parties issued statements on those results.
Rich Anderson - Chair Republican Party of Virginia:
The certification on Dec. 2nd by the Virginia State Board of Elections of the 2024 election results validates what we already knew: That Virginia voters can have confidence that our electoral processes are safe, secure, and transparent. The reforms put into place by Governor Youngkin, the work of our local electoral boards, and the focused engagement by our grassroots volunteers across Virginia have produced one of the finest electoral infrastructures in the country.
Susan Swecker - Chair Democratic Party of Virginia:
Each year, Virginians head to the polls with the assurance that their vote matters and has an impact. This year was no exception. The certification of the 2024 election results on December 2 affirmed that our system remains fair, secure, and safe, providing every citizen the opportunity to participate. We take pride in the progress Democrats have championed, including expanding access to early voting and same-day registration. We are certain that our electoral process will continue to be one of the best in the country for years to come.
